Sun, sun, and more SUN
Vikersund’s Own World Championship Meteorolog, Kristen Gislefoss, Forecasts Beautiful Easter-Weather at the Hill All Weekend.

Friday afternoon, the sun shown just as much the spectators and the thermometer showed +8 degrees. Even though the competition was cancelled in the end, due to wind, the weather won't be a problem the rest of the World Championship days in Vikersund. Photo: Hilde Crone Leineboe
“The weather prognosis are relatively good. The rest of the weekend looks good weather-wise with both varied cloud level and lots of sun,” says Gislefoss.
Important for the competition management
This year, as last year, the state meteorologist, Gislefoss, was engaged as our own World Championship meteorologist for the competition management with competition leader, Ole Gunnar Fidjestoel, at the head. They need a complete overview over wind, clouds, sun and other weather conditions at all times. Every detail is important before the world’s best ski-jumpers take off from the world’s largest skiflying hill, writes www.bygdeposten.no.
World Championship Sun
www.yr.no reports that the temperature will be around +1-+2 degrees, sun and a calm wind from northwest on Saturday. Sunday, there will be below zero temperatures for the first time, but not more than -2 to -7, as well as sun and a faint wind from northwest.
There shouldn’t be any challenges regarding completing the skiflying competition at the world’s largest skiflying hill.
